Thammasat University - A Leader of Sustainable Campus

22 August 2016, At Rangsit Centre, Rector Somkit Lertpaithoon, VR Prinya Thaewanarumitkul and Gasinee Witoonchart jointly declared the launch of Solar Roof on Thammasat Climate Action Project in the support of Solartron Co.,Ltd. represented by Mr. Cherdpong Siriwit, the Chairman, to commit on the 15-megawatt target of solar energy by end of 2017.  The achievement of such action will allow Thammasat to be no. 1 in Asia and number 4 in the world as the university that can produce solar energy on-campus.  The Climate Action is implemented alongside other environmental awareness campaigns, including electric cars, no plastic bags and green campus.   From a record of 7-11, our partner in Rangsit Centre, it reports that at least 800,000 plastic bags were less used throughout previous year.

As the first Thai university member of the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) we commit to continue our mission to save our earth.  Solar roof will be installed in other centers, Ta Prachan, Lampang and Pattaya.  We can anticipate we will save as much as 40 per cent of annual expenses on energy usage.

Let's join together, save this beautiful planet for ourselves, for our loved young generations.

Also present at the launch include Vice Rector Chuleeporn Keskowit, Ann Asthma, Adchara Panthanuwong, Deans Chaiyuth Chavalitnitikul Pravit Khaemasunun, and executives, including Thira Jears, among others
